We're going to be talking about clearly everything related to the the claim strategy from a benefits administration standpoint, from a risk management perspective. But for me, I think what I'm looking for most forward to is really getting to know the individual at a personal level. Let's dive in. Hello and welcome to the introductory episode of beyond the claim. My name is Jordan Alfred and I'm one of the producers of the show. We're here today with Mark Cunningham, chief sales and marketing officer at broad spire. Mark, thanks so much for joining me. How's it going today? I'm wonderful. How are you and doing amazing. What has been the highlight of your week so far? Actually, just returning from vacation, so that's been the highlight. Is Getting back on the grind here. Just coming back from the West Coast California with the family, so towards a tale under this pandemic. Has Been Great to fit...

...in some family time. So I'm in a good place Super Nice. I can't wait to be able to get some sun and soak up the you know, soak up the sun feet in the sand. So that sounds awesome. Well, mark, let's hop into it. To give our listeners a little bit more context. The goal of this episode is to share what you, the listener, can expect from this podcast. But before we jump into that, mark, tell us a little bit about yourself and the work that you're doing at broad spire. Sure. Yeah, as you mentioned in the opening, I'm a chief sales and marketing office there for broad spire US part of Crawford and company, which is a global TPA. So we do administration of everything, from all things claims, and that's hence the point of this podcast, but everything from workers compensation claims to lass adjusting to benefits administration, so forth and so on. But more importantly for me as a personally, I am the firstborn of two immigrant parents from Jamaica, father of two children, husband of one wife. Live in the American dream. So I'm in I'm...

...loving life and in a really good place. Excited about this podcast. I love it. I love it. So, mark, why did the team at broad spyer decide to even start this podcast. I'm sure you're all of you know, pretty busy over there. I think everyone has to have a podcast these days, right. So well compelled now and getting aside, we want to expand our reach and we wanted to make sure that we're having some compelling conversations. It's tough these they especially in this virtual environment and then even post pandemic, to really have a thoughtful, genuine conversation with folks, because everyone is just so busy, whether you're traveling or you're doing your your normal business or personal life, to sit down and really get to know someone and get their insights in a way that can impact your business but also, more importantly, just decide in general. I think there's some individuals are really thirsty for some insightful conversations that can help them and their current position as well as in their career path. Great, great, so you know. What do you expect to benefit from this experience and who should be tuning in? I'd say tuning in, we're going to see everything across the spectrum. You're going...

...to have your industry veterans and all the way through to your early career path individuals. They're looking for, as I said, broader insights into kind of how they structure their career and what they could look out for, what they can benefit from. We're going to be talking about clearly everything related to the the claim strategy from a benefits administration standpoint, from a risk management perspective. But for me, I think what I'm looking for most forward to is really getting to know the individual at a personal level. So I want to talk about their story, their journey. I want to understand how they see this industry, how they see things changing based on innovation, and really get beyond, you know, your your traditional kind of step by step tactical claims management and risk management to really understanding how we can all grow in this space and think outside of the box that's been created for us. Amazing. So what do you think listeners can expect to hear when they listen to each episode?...

I think they're going to see nuances of the the claims experience and, you know, they're going to hear some things that are happening behind the scenes that they may not have access to or they may not have been aware of. I think things that they can bring into their own business or their own personal lives and careers. And Leverage as they look to build out either their programs or they look to develop individually. I think they're going to be introduced individuals that they wouldn't have been outside of this opportunity and make connections in a way that they probably probably wouldn't have. I know everyone, including myself, will be immediately accessible via various mediums and and I think that this will allow us to open doors that wouldn't have been open otherwise. I absolutely love that, mark, so we'll just reps it up for introductory episode and Mark, thank you so much for being here with me today. I'm so excited about this show and I think that it's going to provide a lot of value to your audience and I think that there's a lot that we can learn looking, you know, at the strategy of claims management through the eyes of achieve sales marketing...

...officer. So, Mark, before we head out, could you let your listeners know what is the most important takeaway that you would like for them to learn? I've take it's going to be probably more personal for me. I'm an introvert by design and so this again allows me the opportunity to stretch myself and to tap into having conversations in a way that I probably wouldn't have in my normal life, and so I'm looking forward to meeting New People. I'm looking forward to deepening the relationships that we I currently have and that we had as an organization currently have, but I'm also absolutely looking forward to meeting the people and in hearing their journey. I think that there are others. I think that's why podcast in general so popular, that there's just an immense interest in hearing the story from individuals in a very authentic, genuine way, and I'm looking forward to that. That's going to be amazing. You're absolutely right. That is exactly what people are looking to hear. They want to hear...

...that it's authentic and for you to show your own journey throughout this process that you know, hey, I'm an introvert, but I can hop on the mic and I can talk and have discussion with everybody, even though I know that thousands of people will be listening.
